Analysis of stress in the wall of burst-test specimen for determination of strength of ceramic shell moulds used in investment casting

This bachelor's thesis was prepared with the intention of contributing to the issue of testing thin-walled ceramic samples for precision casting. The first part is focused on analytical determination of strength based on sample dimensions and overpressure. In the analytical part, the applicability criterion of a specific calculation method was established. In the second part, the sample was also modeled with a supply tube. This model was solved using the finite element method. With this method, stress concentration was observed in the connection stem. In further iterations of the dimensions of this connection, this stress concentration was reduced.
